Quick Start Guide

Get from zero to value in 15 minutes. No prior setup needed.

Total Time: ~15 minutes
1

Connect GitHub

30 seconds

Your Actions:

  • Navigate to Dashboard
  • Click 'Create Project'
  • Authorize GitHub OAuth
  • Select 1+ repositories

System Does:

Fetches repo metadata, branches, detects primary language (Java/TypeScript/Python)

💡

Tip: Select all related repos for multi-repo projects (frontend + backend + mobile)

2

Map Branches to Workspaces

1 minute

Your Actions:

  • Map 'main' or 'master' → RELEASE
  • Map 'develop' or 'dev' → DEVELOP
  • (Optional) Map feature branches → SPRINT
  • Click 'Continue'

System Does:

Creates workspace records, prepares for isolated indexing

💡

Tip: RELEASE code_snapshots enable feature catalog. DEVELOP/SPRINT do not.

3

Index Codebase

5 minutes (3K files)

Your Actions:

  • Watch real-time progress with SSE streaming
  • See: Files → Symbols → Commits → Schema
  • Get notification when complete

System Does:

Microservices (Java/Node/Python) parse code → Extract code_definitions → Build call graphs → Fetch git history → Discover DB schema

💡

Tip: For 2,919 files: ~5 minutes. Parallel processing across repos. Progress bars update live.

4

Review Discovered Features

2 minutes

Your Actions:

  • Navigate to Workspace → Features tab
  • Review 15-25 auto-discovered features
  • Edit names if needed
  • Archive irrelevant features

System Does:

Graph clustering (Louvain algorithm) groups related files/code_definitions into features

💡

Tip: Feature catalog only runs on RELEASE code_snapshots to avoid WIP noise

5

Generate Gap Report

3 minutes

Your Actions:

  • Go to Project → Roadmap → Strategic Planning
  • Add competitors (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.)
  • Click 'Generate Gap Report'
  • Review 137 gaps with impact scores (0-100)

System Does:

AI researches competitors via web search, analyzes changelogs, pricing, reviews → Identifies missing features → Scores by revenue impact

💡

Tip: High-impact gaps (85+) are often quick wins. Check 'present_in' to see which competitors have it.

6

Build Your Team

2 minutes

Your Actions:

  • Navigate to Project → People
  • Review AI team analysis
  • See contribution breakdowns (Backend: 60%)
  • Invite team members with role context

System Does:

Analyzes 3,421 commits → Groups by developer → Detects duplicates via AI embeddings → Suggests roles based on contributions

💡

Tip: Email deduplication merges john@laptop.local + john@company.com automatically

You're Ready!

After these 6 steps, you have: Complete code intelligence, discovered features, competitive gaps, and team analysis.

Next: Explore specific workflows like Release Planning, Initiative Management, or Sprint Planning.
